How To Paint Kitch Cabninets Yellow & White
-
1
Choose the shades of white and yellow you'd like. Yellows range from pale to bold and whites from creamy to bright as snow. Gather paintbrushes, plastic, painter's tape and head to the kitchen.

2
Lay the plastic under the cabinets that are to be painted. This will protect the floor and surfaces below. Use painter's tape for edges and to cover areas you do not want painted. Decide which color you want as the primary color, and which as the accent. Do you want white cabinets with yellow accents or yellow cabinets with white accents? Open and stir the primary color.

Apply the primary color to the main parts of the cabinet. You'll use the accent color on trim and hardware. Use the medium-sized brush for larger surface areas and the small brush for small or narrow areas. Take your time to avoid drips, runs, smears and mistakes. Soft bristle brushes work the best to apply paint evenly. Once the primary color has been applied to all of the cabinets to be painted let dry.

Paint the cabinets using the accent color in the areas that are not covered by the primary color. Hardware, edges and trim should all be painted using the accent color. A trim can be created on cabinets that have none by using the painter's tape one to two inches in from all edges. Measure it carefully, apply the tape and paint the outer border for a trim look using the accent color.

5
Carefully remove the painter's tape. Clean up, rinse the brushes well so that you can keep them for use on your next project. Save leftover paint for future touch-ups if needed. All that's left is to take care of the plastic. Step back and take a look. Once the paint is dry, your cabinets are usable again. It's best to give them 24 hours.

Take your time to avoid mistakes. Wash paint off from surfaces that it should not have gotten on promptly with soap and water. It'll come off if done quickly. Keep a rag on hand just in case.
Paint can put off fumes that can be toxic. Keep the kitchen area well ventilated when painting and until paint is thoroughly dry.
