1
Wear a custom belt buckle. Check your belt to be sure that it supports changing and adding belt buckles; look for clasps or snap closures at one end to indicate how your belt supports changing the buckle. Open the clasps and remove any existing belt buckle, storing it in a safe place for later use.

2
Lay out your belt next to the new buckle on a flat surface, with the outside against the table. Place your new buckle right side down next to the belt. Slide the unclasped end of the belt through the metal loop or clasp of the belt buckle. Fold or loop the belt back onto itself and secure the clasps to hold the new buckle in place.

Check that the snaps and closures are securely fastened. Lift your belt buckle from the table and turn it over to ensure that you have put on the belt buckle in the correct position and not upside down or reversed. Wear your belt as usual by wrapping the belt around your waist, using belt loops to secure the belt's position, and close by inserting your belt buckle's peg into the hole of your belt or as directed by the belt buckle. Change the buckles as desired for any occasion, by repeating these steps.

4
Wear a simple, understated belt buckle with business or formal attire. With your belt securely fastened through all pant belt loops, center the buckle on your waist above the front zipper after fastening. Avoid words, images or colors. Stick to simple metals that do not detract from the professional or classy image of the business or formal dress code. Experiment with shapes and opt for simple designs.

5
Bring your fun and personal style into your casual wear by interchanging belt buckles. Wear holiday colors or images to celebrate a day or season. Add buckles with images, words or anything that reflects your personal taste as long as no dress code prohibits it. Remember to always center your belt buckle on the front of your waist when wearing it. Avoid adult-themed buckles in public places or family environments.
