How to Block All Website Pop-Ups

One of the bad things about website pop-ups is that you never know what is going to pop up. A lot of the pop-ups can be inappropriate and provide your eyes with a little more than they care to see. Other pop-ups, although not harmful, are just simply annoying. The good news is that there are tools built into your Internet browser that will allow you to block them, making your pop-up problems a thing of the past.

  1. Internet Explorer

      Open Internet Explorer.

      Click "Tools" on the menu bar.

      Select "Pop-up Blocker."

      Select "Turn On Pop-up Blocker."

      Select "Pop-up Blocker Settings." Click the button to "Remove All" allowed sites.

      Click on the "Blocking Level" options at the bottom of the settings window. Choose "High" to block all pop-ups.

    Firefox

      Open Firefox.

      Click "Tools" on the menu bar. Select "Options."

      Click on the "Content" tab.

      Place a check in the box beside "Block Pop-ups." Click on the "Exceptions" button. Click on the "Remove All Sites" button at the bottom of the window.

      Click "Close" and "OK" to save your settings.
