How to Create a Yahoo! Chat Room

Yahoo! Messenger is a great messaging and discussion tool that allows individuals to converse with others in real time. Users can send messages back and forth via instant messages or they can join or create chat rooms to discuss a variety of topics with other people. At the time of writing, Yahoo! has currently disabled the feature for users to create chat rooms due to system improvements and compliance with their Terms of Service. Check the "Yahoo! Chat Room Help" link (see Resources) for further information as to when Yahoo! plans to re-enable the feature.

Things You'll Need:

• Yahoo! Messenger

1. Download and install Yahoo! Messenger. Once installation has completed, launch program.

2. Login using your Yahoo! ID and Password. If you don't have an account yet, you can sign up for one by clicking "Get a new Yahoo! ID..." from the application.

3. Click "Messenger" from the top menu and scroll down to "Yahoo! Chat" and then click "Create a Room." Follow the wizard to create your chat room and invite friends.
