How to Change Microsoft XP Text Colors

Customizing Windows XP text gives users a better overall experience while working on their desktop or laptop. Changing text size and color is a built-in capability provided by Microsoft in all of the company's operating systems. Changing the text colors and size is available on the Desktop Properties configuration module.

      Right-click the desktop and select "Properties." Click the "Advanced" tab. This is where you can edit the Windows XP text color and size.

      Click the image to select which text you want to change. You can customize different font locations. For instance, you may change the Explorer bar font, the text shown within Explorer, and the window menu bars. The image displays the text you are able to change.

      Select the size of the font in the listbox labeled "Size." Select the color of the font in the listbox labeled "Color."

      Set bold or italics properties. Click the button for "Bold" or "Italics" to set these properties for the selected text.

      Click the "Ok" button in the Properties window. The changes take effect immediately, so there is no need to reboot.
