How to Install Turbo Tax 2006

Turbo Tax is a popular application that guides you through tax preparation at the end of the year. Installing older versions of Turbo Tax like 2006 is still supported from Intuit. However, they recommend installing new versions to keep updated with the latest tax laws in your area. Installing older versions of Turbo Tax only takes a few steps.

Instructions

1. Insert the installation CD into your computer. Right-click the Windows "Start" button and select "Explore." This opens the Windows Explorer.

2. Double-click the CD-ROM drive in Explorer. This opens a list of files and folders on the CDROM.

3. Double-click the "Setup.exe" file. This starts the install application. Click "Next" at the summary screen.

4. Click "I accept" at the software agreement and click "Next." Select a folder to install Turbo Tax and click "Next." At this point, the software installs.

5. Download the latest update for the current year. Turbo Tax is best used with updated software for the current year, so you get the latest updates to tax laws. You can download the latest update from Intuit's site at turbotax.intuit.com/support/kb/update/update/6345.html.

6. Double-click the file downloaded from step 5. After updating, you can open Turbo Tax and use it for current tax preparation.
