Things You'll Need:
- Resolve multi-fabric upholstery cleaner
- Soft cleaning cloth
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Empty spray bottle
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Spray 'N Wash Extra Strength Laundry Stain Remover
- 20 Mule Team Borax
-
Step 1
Spray Resolve cleaner onto mattress cover stain. If the stain is fresh, blot any excess moisture with a clean cloth. Once the area is covered with the spray, gently blot it with a damp cleaning cloth. If the stain remains, spray the spot again and blot gently.
-
Step 2
Pour 1 cup of vinegar into an empty spray bottle and spray the stain. Allow the vinegar to soak into the stain for a few minutes, followed by blotting baking soda onto the stain. The baking soda will cause the stain to bubble. Continue to use the baking soda on the stain until it no longer bubbles. Finish by using a clean cloth to blot away moisture.
-
Step 3
Pour a quarter-size amount of hydrogen peroxide into a cleaning cloth and dab the stain. Continue dabbing the stain until it is no longer visible. Do not soak the stain as it can seep through to the mattress.
-
Step 4
Remove the mattress cover from the mattress. Pre-treat the stain with Spray 'N Wash Extra Strength Laundry Stain Remover and allow it to sit for five minutes. Wash the mattress cover separately from other clothes at the specified temperature on the cover's laundry tag. Use the 20 Mule Team Borax laundry detergent to ensure removal of stain.
