How to Make a Homemade Valentine Card Holder

When Valentine's Day approaches, every youngster must have a card holder ready to hold all of those precious Valentines they are sure to be receiving. Make a simple Valentine card holder to help children anticipate this enjoyable holiday. Place all of the Valentines safely inside the card holder, and then tuck the Valentine card holder away for safe keeping to store all of the keepsake Valentines for mementos.

  • Cone-shaped party hat
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Red or pink tissue paper
  • Red or pink ribbon
  • Heart stickers
  • Permanent black marker
  • Hole punch

Instructions

      Squash the party hat flat and hold it so that it looks like a flat triangle. Draw the outline of the two humps of the top of a heart along the top edge of the hat. Cut out the outline.

      Punch one hole in each top outside edge of the card keeper.

      Cut a 15-inch length of ribbon, thread one end through both holes and bring the ribbon ends together. Tie them together securely in a double knot, and then tie a bow.

      Decorate the outside edges with the heart stickers. Write the child's name on the outside of the card holder with the black marker.

      Insert the tissue paper into the card holder so that the tissue paper sticks out from the top edge in a decorative fashion.
