Sooth Teething Discomfort

Is your baby chewing on anything and everything? Restless during the night? Crying more than usual? These are common signs of teething. This is a rather painful experience for baby, so here are some tips on how to sooth those sore gum's.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Teething Rings, Toys With Teething Parts, Teething Tablets, Washcloths
  1. Step 1

Make an appointment with baby's Pediatrician to make sure he/she is in fact teething. The frequent crying could be caused by something more serious.

  2. Step 2

Teething Rings - You should have at least two of these. One that baby is chewing on, and one in the freezer. The coldness helps with soothing the gum's.

  3. Step 3

Toys With Teething Parts - You can find them almost anywhere toys are sold. They usually come in the form of a stuffed animal with hands, feet and ears as the teether's. You'll notice the flexible rubber parts have bumps and ridges on them. They can be both cuddly and soothing.

  4. Step 4

Teething Tablets - They're homeopathic and they melt instantly on baby's tongue! Pick them up at your local pharmacy. They're the best solution for night time when the baby is too irritable to sleep.

  5. Step 5

Washcloths - An ancient remedy that may also help is a cold, damp washcloth for baby to chew on. It's simple and it's free!

Tips & Warnings
  • When baby's teeth start to show, it's important to take care of them immediately. There are infant teeth care products that help.
  • If you choose to use a teething ring with liquid inside, discontinue use when teeth begin to show. your baby could potentially bite through them.
