How to Polish Marble by Hand
Marble is a slate-like material with different colors and shapes within the piece. It is a popular material in the kitchen and bathroom. Time and wear can cause it to lose its shine and become dull. Polish marble every two weeks to a month so it keeps a glossy finish. Does this Spark an idea?

Several products are available as a spray, liquid or cream, such as Lundmark marble polish or Tough Guy marble and granite polish. Pour or add a dime-size amount of the polish in the middle of the marble.

Use a buffing or polishing pad made specifically for polishing marble, such as Wet diamond polishing pads or buff grit diamond polisher pads.

Buff in circles. After polishing the middle, work to the right and then the left edges. Start in the middle again, polish up and then down, adding more polish as necessary.

Air-dry the marble. Once dry, the marble will shine. If it does not, repeat the previous steps. If you don't polish regularly, you may have to polish the marble two or three times.

Wearing gloves is voluntary. Usually, polishes are non-toxic and will not damage your skin. Read manufacturer's directions to make sure.
