Cleanliness is important to a baby. Baby nappies can be purchased at a store, and you can also find disposable nappies. However, you can also easily make a baby nappy for your little one, by following a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose fabric that you would like to use. You will want to use fabric made of cotton, as it is more absorbent. You can also use a double layer with a fabric made out of rubber or plastic.

  2. Step 2

Cut the fabric into squares. The squares should be 1-by-1 foot. Sew around the squares of fabric to keep them from fraying.

  3. Step 3

If you are using a rubber or plastic fabric as well as cotton, match one square of cotton and one square of rubber or plastic fabric. Do not sew them together, however, as this will make getting them clean more difficult.

  4. Step 4

Use either one cotton square or one cotton square matched with a rubber or plastic fabric square.

Tips & Warnings
  • You will want to have enough nappies on hand to change one every hour for an entire day, just to make sure you have enough of them. Cotton is the most absorbent for being near baby's bottom. Rubber and plastic can be used as a second layer, to be worn outside the cotton nappy.
  • Never use a material that might be harmful for your baby. Do not use the rubber or plastic material against your baby's bare skin.
