This is a twist on American Idol that can be a bigger benefit to you than sitting star-gazed in front of a silver box night after night. :-)

Do the American Idol Twist: instead of Idolizing , BE someone's Idol by following these steps:

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • yourself
  • a friend or two
  • time
  1. Step 1

Pull yourself away from American Idol when it comes on tv. (at least for one or two nights to test this).

  2. Step 2

DO the twist: the twist is to Idolize your American neighbor who is near you. Instead of mindlessly sitting watching an Idol, take your time to treat someone with your devoted attention.

  3. Step 3

Perhaps call someone on the phone to give them some encouraging words making time to listen to what they would like to say. This takes time.

  4. Step 4

You could visit a nearby bakery and deliver some tasty goods to one or two people you know who would really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Idolize YOUR American neighbor! Make them feel good that you cared!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always do these kind deeds in the spirit of meekness and love and not with the intent to bring glory to yourself.
  • WARNING! This can be addictive and quite satisfying if continued on a regular basis. You may just start feeling better than you ever have been before.
  • ....or of course you can opt to sit in your arm chair night after night and Idolize that way too ... :-)
