Step 1
Begin by editing your Facebook profile. Delete any photos that could jeopardize your image at work. Be sure to delete any negative wall comments and previous status updates as well. If you are not sure how it could be interpreted by colleagues, it is better safe than sorry to just delete it.
-
Step 2
Select your friends carefully. Your friends could post something embarrassing that you will not have a chance to delete before your boss or coworkers see it.
-
Step 3
Delete any applications that your coworkers may disapprove of.
-
Step 4
Edit your settings. If you do not want your coworkers or boss to see your profile at all, you can set your profile to completely private. The only thing that will show up to others is your display photo, so be sure to select it carefully.
-
Step 5
Limit your Facebook visits in the workplace. Your colleagues may think that you are not getting your work done. While you may not have added your coworkers or boss to your friends, you will want to be careful that your Facebook content is carefully selected incase someone sees it as they walk by.
