By knowing where registered sex offenders live in your area, you will have a better idea of who to avoid and which areas have a higher concentration of people who have committed a sex crime.

1. Getting Started

   Log on to a website that offers free sex offender searches in your area. One such website that has become very popular with this is familywatchdog.us (see resources section below). Websites such as this give you the ability to search your prosice area for any and all registered sex offenders.

2. Once you are on such as site, simply enter your address and press enter. You search will prompt you to the next page where you will be presented with a map of your area.

3. Observe the colored dots on the map to see the locations of registered sex offenders that live near you. The colored dots classify the degree of the sex crime the offender committed.

4. Click on one of the colored dots to see the offenders home address, offenses , a photo, etc. This information makes it easier to recognize and avoid the offender, should you ever see him around your neighborhood.

5. Use websites such as the one I have mentioned to protect your family from potential predators.
