After you have removed the old wallpaper, you may find that there are tiny holes on the surface of the walls. This is easily rectified with the use of a lightweight spackle and a putty knife or spackle knife, applying the spackle, like buttering a piece of toast.

  2. Step 2

You may also find holes from nails that were removed during the wallpaper removal process. These holes can be filled with the lightweight spackle using the spackle knife.

  3. Step 3

If the walls have a textured applied before the wallpaper was installed, your paint application will be easier. If not, you may want to apply a wall texture before you apply the finish paint. With either texture or non textured walls, you will need to apply a primer before you apply the finish paint.
