Sometimes you find yourself trapped in a situation where you have ice cold beers in your hands but you don’t have the bottle opener around. There are several ways to open your beers… use a lighter, keys, piece of paper, edge of table, your teeth, or even your eye socket (if you’re that tough!). But then you can also use another beer bottle to do it. Here’s how...

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two bottles of beer
  1. Step 1

Grab the beer that you want to open near the bottle cap with your non-dominant hand on top of a table or something flat.

  2. Step 2

Get another bottle on your other hand.

  3. Step 3

Turn the bottle upside down with the cap in contact underneath the cap of the beer you are trying to open.

  4. Step 4
    Option 1

    Option 1

Use your palm and your fingers to provide a tight grip on the two bottles. The index finger should keep the two caps together, while the middle finger will act as the fulcrum.

  5. Step 5

Carefully pull down the upside down bottle until the cap pop off. And now you can drink your cold beer.

  6. Step 6
    Option 2

    Option 2

If you are having a hard time, you can try on a different angle. You may position the other beer near your thumb side instead. Now the base of your thumb will act as the fulcrum when you try to pop off the cap.

  7. Step 7

Now how do you open the last one if you’ve finished all the other beers? Simple… just put the cap back on in one of the bottles and repeat the steps.

Once you’ve done it, you won’t be looking for your bottle opener the next time you want to enjoy a nice cold beer. It takes more practice though to make those loud popping sound. It’s really fun! You don’t have to damage your lighter, keys, or your table… or even chip your teeth. Try it!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use this steps when opening soda bottles.
  • Please do this carefully to avoid abrasions to your hands by the bottle caps.
