Are you tired of trying to figure out when your dog needs to use the bathroom? Have ever thought about training your dog to ring a bell when they need to go outside?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • String
  • Jingle bells
  1. Step 1

You will need to purchase some string and a few jingle bells. I would suggest small bells.

  2. Step 2

Tie the string on to the jingle bells and place the string around your door knob. The door that want to use to use to take your dog out to the bathroom.

  3. Step 3

Once you are done setting up, take your dog to the door and place their nose to the bells. Then ring the bells with their nose. Then open the door and let your dog out.

  4. Step 4

You will probably need to do that for a few days then your dog will start ringing the bell each time they need to go out. It is also important to remember to not let the dog out without completing this each time or they will not realize that they need to do this to get outside.

Tips & Warnings
  • This can be done with even an old dog. We taught our dog after we had her for three years.
  • Remember to place the string at level with the dog's nose.
