After trying for many years to find a mattress that would not make my back hurt, I decided to try an air mattress. I decided on one like the one pictured.

I instantly fell in love with it, enjoying the feeling of waking up pain free and full of energy.

Waking up this morning feeling wonderful as usual, but something was different. I was lower than normal. Looking around at my bed I realized it was lower than it should be.

After finally climbing out of the bed, which took some effort, cause by now it rocked and rolled like a squishy water bed. I took the bed covers off and started looking where a hole or holes might be.

Looking around the seams especially at the corners, I found flaws where the seams were coming apart, starting with tiny pin holes.

I knew I had not bought a patch kit when I bought the mattress, so I started looking through my sewing stuff and found the items listed under,"Things You'll Need".

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • tube of crazy glue or some quick drying glue
  • a cotton ball
  • a blunted pencil
  • any clear packing tape will do and is strong
  1. Step 1

Taking a cotton ball, I pulled a tiny amount loose and twirled it between my thumb and forefinger to make a small ball. After making the ball, I flatten it between my fingers to make what looks more like a flattened football, it does not have to be exact.

  2. Step 2

Then taking the super glue I saturated the cotton with the super glue, being careful not to glue it to my fingers. I placed the glue soaked cotton over the tiny hole. Then took the blunted pencil and gently stuffed the cotton in the hole, then let it set for a few minutes.

  3. Step 3

While waiting I cut a small piece of packing tape. After waiting about 5 minutes I placed the tape over the cotton then gently pressed around all sides to make sure the tape was firmly in place with no air bubbles.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take the super glue and run a bead of glue around all sides of the tape to make sure the tape is secure.
  • Wait another 30 minutes then replace the air that had escaped.
  • Always buy a patch kit when you purchase an air mattress !
  • But for now this works!!!!!!!!!!!!!
