How to Make a Headband Holder
Headbands can provide a distinctive way to show off your personality. If you have a large collection of these decorative headpieces, throwing them in a drawer for storage can get messy. Using a headband holder is a practical solution that makes the objects readily accessible. Customize a headband holder for your headbands by making one yourself using common household items.
Things You'll Need
- Round cardboard oatmeal container
- Damp paper towel
- Decorative piece of paper
- Decoupage glue
- Foam brush
- Scissors

Empty a round cardboard oatmeal container and wipe out the inside with a damp paper towel to remove any oat dust. Keep the lid. Peel the label off so just a cardboard tube remains.

Remove the lid from the oatmeal container and coat the cardboard with a layer of decoupage glue, applying it with a foam brush. Trim away any excess paper with scissors if necessary.

Wrap the piece of decorative paper (such as scrapbook paper) around the container, running your hands over the surface to ensure a smooth finish.

Place the lid back on and snap the headbands into place on the round container.

Tips & Warnings
There are several additional methods you can use to decorate the container. Create a collage by cutting out words or pictures from a magazine. Coat the container with decoupage glue and press the pictures into place. Once the glue dries, add an additional layer of decoupage glue on the top of the pictures to seal them in place. You can also paint directly onto the cardboard with a high-gloss acrylics.
If you have a large collection of headbands, make several different containers in separate styles for variety.
