Vodka, cranberry and pineapple juices mix for a refreshing summer cocktail

It's summer. It's hot. You've been doing yardwork all day, wishing you were relaxing. And all you want is a refreshing summer cocktail to beat the heat. Read below to learn how to make an easy summer adult beverage that will refresh and revitalize.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vodka
  • Cranberry juice
  • Pineapple juice
  • Garnish: lemon slice, lime slice or orange slice
  • Ice
  • Collins glass
  • Martini shaker
  1. Step 1

Pour one to two (1-2) shots of cold vodka into a cold martini shaker.

  2. Step 2

Add four to six (4-6) ounces of cranberry juice or light cranberry juice to the martini shaker. Put the lid on the martini shaker and shake.

  3. Step 3

Add a splash of pineapple juice. A splash is a quick pour, not a precisely measured amount. For more pineapple taste, add more.

  4. Step 4

Pour the mixture over ice into a short collins glass. Add another splash of pineapple juice. Stir gently, just enough to mix all the ingredients.

  5. Step 5

Garnish with a slice of orange, lime or lemon.

  6. Step 6

Sip, relax and enjoy your cran-pineapple adult beverage!

Tips & Warnings
  • Ice in the martini shaker is not necessary if you use cold vodka and cold juices.
  • The strong flavor of the juices will mask the taste of cheap vodka, so don't feel like you need to use a really pricey vodka. Smirnoff will do.
  • Store vodka in the fridge for an extra cold cocktail.
  • Don't drink alcohol if you're pregnant.
  • Don't overconsume!
  • Take a couple Advil and drink at least one 8 ounce glass of water before bed to avoid a hangover if you have a 3 or more of these cocktails. The sugar from the juice lends itself to a nice hangover if you don't take precautions.
