Photoshop is among the most popular and widely used photo uploading and editing softwares available on computer systems across the world. Photoshop 5.5 specifically offers many special features previously unavailable on Photoshop programs, and one of these features allows you to remove the dreaded red eye that has the ability to distort and ruin pictures taken with any kind of camera. Though a small blemish on the picture, fixing this red eye effect in Photoshop 5.5 allows you to retain the individual look and personality of every subject in your picture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your Photoshop 5.5 application, click "File>Open" in the upper menu and select the photo you would like to edit from your computer's library.

  2. Step 2

Click the "magnifying glass" tool in the main menu and click on a set of eyes in the photograph to zoom in.

  3. Step 3

Select the "Elliptical Marquee Tool" in your editing menu. This tool is shaped like a circle made of dotted lines.

  4. Step 4

Circle one eye with the elliptical tool and press the "Shift" button on your keypad to circle the second eye.

  5. Step 5

Click "Image" in the upper bar menu.

  6. Step 6

Select "Adjustments>Hue/Saturation" in the "Image" drop-down menu.

  7. Step 7

Drag the "Hue," "Saturation" and "Lightness" tabs to the left or right to alter the color of the selected eyes, depending on the shade you would like to change them to.

  8. Step 8

Select "OK," and the color of the eyes in the photograph will be changed.
