How to Publish with iUniverse Publishing

How to Publish with iUniverse Publishing thumbnail
Becoming an author is as easy as clicking a mouse

Though becoming a published author is a dream for many writers, traditional publishing houses are very selective on the books they publish. This means that many talented and deserving authors are rejected. Luckily, a publishing model known as self-publishing is gaining in popularity and gives all authors the opportunity to see their work in print. One of the top self-publishers in the business is iUniverse Publishing. With money and a little patience, iUniverse Publishing can help take you from raw manuscript to finished book in just a few months.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete your manuscript. Your text should be edited, and images (if any) acquired, before pursuing the book-publishing process.

    • 2

Define your publishing goals. iUniverse offers several packages designed with the needs of different writers in mind. Do you simply want to see your book in print? Or do you want to make money as a writer? Knowing your goals before you chose a publishing package can make the process easier.

    • 3

Select a publishing package that meets your goals. iUniverse publishing packages range in price from $599 to $2,099. Each package includes things like a custom cover, free books and one-on-one author support; the higher the price, the more that's included in the package. If you're not sure which package is right for you, ask an iUniverse sales professional for suggestions (see References below).

    • 4

Submit your manuscript and related materials electronically to your iUniverse Publishing Services Associate. This person is assigned to work with you throughout the publishing process and is responsible for answering your questions and addressing concerns.

    • 5

Choose additional services to make your book the best it can be. iUniverse offers editing and design add-on services designed to improve the readability and appeal of your book. Your Publishing Services Associate will suggest which ones would be the best fit for your book.

    • 6

Approve your book. Your Publishing Services Associate will send you proofs of your book. Read your proofs from front to back and ensure all words are spelled correctly, all fonts match and all photos and illustrations are correctly placed (if applicable.) Once everything meets your standard, you can approve the work and your book will be sent for printing.
