How to Connect to a Westell Router

Westell makes a line of broadband home networking products that enable residential customers and users in small businesses to access and share broadband services. These inexpensive DSL router/modems offer multi-users Internet LAN access for home or business applications. The Westell router/modems allow you to have the benefits of the "always on" high-speed broadband Internet connection without losing the ability to receive voice calls over the same phone line.

Instructions

      Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the computer's Ethernet port. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Westell router.

      Connect the barrel end of the router's power cord to the connector labeled "12 v" on the back of the router. Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.

      Connect one end of the DSL phone cable to the DSL line jack on the back of the router. Connect the other end to the wall jack.

      Wait for the Ready and the Link LEDs to glow steady green. The router is now ready to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't use a DSL filter on the line from the wall jack to the router.
