      Group interview

Go to the group interview session (dress is business casual). The session leader will explain the job requirements and a typical day in the life of an installer. Once the session is over, interested applicants must submit a urine sample for drug screening. The results may take up to a week to come back; if you pass the screening you will be contacted to attend a classroom training session and a "ride-along" with a Direct TV installer.

      Ride along

Attend the training session and pay close attention to the instructor and the advice offered. After the classroom training is complete, begin your "ride along" with a Direct TV installer. During this process, pay close attention to the installer and learn helpful tips for installing the Direct TV satellites. Once the "ride along" process is complete (four to six weeks) you will be able to work independently as a Direct TV installer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Direct TV will provide a company vehicle and tools for your installations; however, using your own vehicle can result in higher pay per installation. Consider using your personal vehicle to increase your earnings if you have a truck or commercial van..
