  1. Step 1

Select a portion of an end table or coffee table. Set a square of decorative fabric on the table and place a doily in the center of it.

  2. Step 2

Arrange a china teapot with two teacups on top of the doily. Pour some potpourri into one of the teacups. Complete the arrangement with a graceful pillar candle.

  3. Step 3

Place a doily in the corner of your bathroom counter. Set a plate stand diagonally across the doily and carefully place a small plate on it. Set a soup bowl in front of the plate and fill with decorative hand soaps.

  4. Step 4

Make a small arrangement of china in the center of a bookshelf. Place a plate stand facing outward at the back of the bookshelf. Carefully set a large dinner plate on the stand.

  5. Step 5

Place a smaller plate on a plate stand in front of the larger plate. Set a candle or small china vase slightly left of center in front of the plates.

  6. Display Your China in a Glass Front Cabinet

  7. Step 1

Group your china by item inside a glass cabinet. Select the top shelf for displaying plates. Using plate stands, arrange the plates into settings, with a row of large plates behind a row of salad plates, behind a row of saucers.

  8. Step 2

Group teacups, pitchers, sugar bowls and teapots together on the second shelf. If you have a large china platter, place this in the center of the second shelf on a plate stand.

  9. Step 3

Place the larger items, such as the teapot and pitcher, on either side of the platter. Group the creamer, sugar bowl and teacups around the larger containers.

  10. Step 4

On the bottom shelf, display the bowls and vases together. Place the vases in the center of the shelf flanked by a row of bowls on either side.

  11. Display Your China on a Shelf

  12. Step 1

Choose an unexpected spot to hang a shelf. It could be over a window or along a hallway.

  13. Step 2

Mark an "x" for the nails to go and using a hammer, pound the nails into the wall, leaving about ½ inch sticking out.

  14. Step 3

Place the shelf on the nails, and with a hand level, check that the shelf is perfectly horizontal.

  15. Step 4

Arrange a large collection of china plates on plate stands on the shelf. Layer smaller plates in front of the larger ones, and turn them at interesting angles.
