Step 1
Select a fabric. Crisp fabrics are best for men's dress shirts. Look for a 100-percent-cotton or cotton-blend fabric. Cotton blends are less prone to wrinkling and offer easier care; however, they are slightly less breathable. You can select from traditional pastels, pinstripes or white for a classic shirt, or opt for black, charcoal or a dark tonal stripe for a more modern look.

Step 2
Choose a collar style. Common collars include a classic one-button design, a two-button design, a more modern tall two-button design, or a button-down option. You might also consider a cut-away collar or a long point collar.
-
Step 3
Choose a cuff style. Round or angled cuffs with one or two buttons are traditional; however, you might want a French cuff if you enjoy wearing cuff links.
-
Step 4
Select the cut of your shirt. A dress shirt can have no pleats, side pleats or a center pleat. The bottom hem can be straight or curved, as you prefer. Consider how you wear your shirts when making this decision.

Step 5
Add details. The button placket of your custom dress shirt can be seamed, seamless or hidden. A hidden placket offers a fresh and modern look. You can opt for no pocket at all, or an angled, curved or straight pocket on your custom men's dress shirts. You can also select your own buttons, buttonhole style, and color and collar stays when designing a dress shirt.
