How to Refinish a Shower Pan

A dingy-looking shower pan is unpleasant to look, and it can be a health hazard, allowing potentially harmful fungus or bacteria to breed. By applying a new finish to your acrylic shower pan, you can improve the appeal of your shower, and restore it to a like-new shine.

Things You'll Need

• Acrylic coating
• Acrylic bonding agent
• Spray bottle shower cleaner
• Bucket
• Soap
• Sponge

Instructions

1. Fill the bucket with warm, soapy water.

2. Scrub the shower pan with the sponge and soapy water and leave to dry.

3. Use the spray bottle cleaner to clean any difficult spots which persist after a first cleaning.

4. Apply the acrylic bonding agent to the shower pan.

5. Apply a layer of the new acrylic coating to the shower pan.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the desired clean look is achieved.
