Step 1
Decide what the maximum size of television that will fit in your entertainment or TV viewing room will be. If the space available for a TV is less than 42 inches, then a LCD television is the only choice you can make based on the minimum size of Plasma TVs.
-
Step 2
Analyze what the viewing angle from your sitting position will be to the TV. If you cannot place the TV directly in front of your couch, chair or other seating area, then a Plasma TV will be a more appropriate choice.
-
Step 3
Determine if you or another household member will be playing video games on the TV. If so, then a LCD TV will be more appropriate because Plasma TV's are susceptible to having still images burn into the TV screen ruining the TV.
-
Step 4
Assess if the light in the TV viewing room can be controlled through shades and overhead lighting control. If it cannot, then a LCD TV will be a better choice for you because Plasma TV's reflect light at a greater rate and can make it harder to view the TV.
