Instructions

    • 1

Drop the casing into the gauge.

    • 2

Identify the high step and low step on both ends of the gauge. As the names imply, the high step will be the higher of the two lips on a respective end of the gauge.

    • 3

Note where the base of the casing sits relative to the steps, and remove the casing.

    • 4

Turn the sizing die clockwise if the casing is sitting above the high step.

    • 5

Turn the sizing die counterclockwise if the casing is sitting below the low step.

    • 6

Insert the case back into the case gauge.

    • 7

Note where the case mouth sits relative to the high and low steps on the mouth end of the gauge.

    • 8

Trim the casing with a case trimmer if the mouth of the casing rests above the high step so that the casing mouth ends between the high step and the low step.

Tips & Warnings

  • Case gauges are caliber specific, so be sure your gauge is the correct caliber for your firearm's ammunition.
