Summer is a nice break in the year to save up some extra cash. You can save the cash to do repairs on your house or even to just take a shopping break before Fall and Winter come again.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Change your transportation methods. Ride a bike or walk when you can. You will become healthier while also saving money. You can buy a nice bicycle for $50-100 and quickly save that much in gas! If you live a little too far to walk or bike anywhere, see how much public transportation is. For some city dwellers, a monthly pass would save them a lot of money!

  2. Step 2

Spend time outside. When you do this, you can adjust your thermostat to a little bit warmer since you will not need to have it as cool for yourself. You can play outdoor games instead of going to the movies and play sports instead of spending money on TV or computer electricity.

  3. Step 3

Brew tea for your sweet tooth. The water in tea will keep you hydrated and costs next to nothing. You can brew tea in a pitcher outside in the warm sunlight. Add some ice and some sweetener and you are ready for a refreshing drink! Tea is very cheap to make. This will save you a lot of money from buying soft drinks.

  4. Step 4

Have a yard sale. Since it's summer and you have some extra time, clean out the clutter you have been meaning to get rid of and have a yard sale! You will make money while getting rid of things you don't need anymore.
