Things You'll Need:
- Wrench

Step 1
The first step to that is to have the keys out of the ignition secondly is to pop the hood of your car and make sure that the positive battery post is disconnected. Obviously you don’t want any shorts to go on while you’re doing this procedure. Now that you have done all these steps you will need some tools probably some American tools for American cars and if you own a foreign car that will usually take metric tools. Now you start disconnecting the battery mounts which is located on the top that holds the battery down near the bottom you will find nuts or bolts holding the bracket to secure the battery, there should be 1 bolt on each side.
-
Step 2
Once the bracket is off remove both battery terminals the positive and the negative post, from the battery. The positive should already be removed then you take the battery and sit it on the ground or in a box in your trunk for transporting it back to the store where you bought the new battery from for core charge which most stores will charge you for.

Step 3
Guess they refurbish the old batteries for new ones again. When you put the new battery in your vehicle, you first tighten the bracket to secure the battery from moving around then you start with the negative post and secure it secondly you but last you finally put your last positive post on. There you have saved a bundle of money by doing this installation by yourself, probably $50.00 to $500.00 US Dollars depending on what make your car is.
