Step 1
The first thing you must do to quickly start a blog, is decide to the subject of your blog. Is it something personal? Alternatively, do I write about politics? On the other hand, maybe just give out information about a hobby you enjoy or some other passion in your life. The criteria for deciding the subject of your blog is actually quite straightforward but may take you much time to decide upon. The subject must be of interest to readers, and be interesting to you. If you are not interested in the subject, your blog will soon suffer.

Step 2
Now that you've decided on the subject of your blog, it is time to decide where your blog should be hosted. If you want to keep it very simple, you can try a blog hosting service such as www.blogspot.com. This type of service offers premade templates and ease of navigation. You could easily have your blog up and running in about five minutes.

Step 3
If you want a little more of a challenge try using WordPress. WordPress is the standard logging software. Although, you can directly download WordPress to install on your website, it is much easier to find a web hosting service that has one click installation of WordPress available. Blue host is a great example of this. Using a program like WordPress to quickly start your blog may take a few days. The software is easy to use but it is powerful. You may need a day or two to familiarize yourself with the software options.
-
Step 4
Next, begin creating great content. You should update your blog at least 3 to 4 times a week if not every day. This is key to driving traffic to your blog. You may have seen many blogs with lots of bells and whistles. If all you have are bells and whistles, your blog will fail. People will come to your blog to read the content.
-
Step 5
You will notice the option to install widgets and plug-ins. These are usually located on the right sidebar of your blog. Do not go crazy with these. The sidebar widgets obviously add interest and functionality to your blog. However, if overdone, your blog will simply look confused and hard to navigate

Step 6
Read other blogs. The best way to learn how to blog is to learn from other bloggers. Comment on different blogs, this is a sure way to be noticed.
