Premiere Central Vacuum Hose

It can be a bit confusing when looking for a new central vacuum hose. There are many options, many styles and many prices. This article will help point out important things to look for when shopping for a central vacuum hose.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Time
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do is narrow down your search and figue out the type of hose you need. There are three different type of central vacuum hoses; electric hoses, low voltage hoses and standard hoses.

  2. Step 2

Once you know what type of hose you need you can then focus on the important stuff. One important detail to look for is the warranty. Most dealers offer anywhere from a 30 day to a one year warranty, while some offer up to 3 years or more. Obviously the longer the warranty, the better the quality.

  3. Step 3

Other features to look for would be a lightweight material and crushproof design. Most hoses on the market today will have both those features, but there are also other not so common features to look for. I would suggest a hose with a "weight shifted" handle design, or "Strain Relief" design. You should also look at where the hose enters the handle to make sure it is reinforced as this is where most central vacuum hoses become unraveled.

  4. Step 4

Lastly, I would find out where the hose is made. The best quality central vacuum hoses are made right here in America. Other quality hoses are also made in Canada. Be careful not to buy Korean or China made hoses as they are of poor quality and not durable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take time to read and research.
  • Ask questions.
  • Stay away from Korean or China made hoses.
