How to Use BlackBerry Messenger
If you have a BlackBerry and you know other BlackBerry users, installing and using the BlackBerry Messenger service can provide a user-friendly way to exchange instant messages with them. It supports group chat, provides you with the availability status of your contacts and tracks message delivery status.

Download and install BlackBerry Messenger on your phone if it isn't already in the Instant Messaging folder.

Log into BlackBerry Messenger by creating a user name and password. This will be required only once.

Build up your contact list by adding other BlackBerry users. Click "Add a Contact" and then "Use Once." Choose to request contact by email or unique BlackBerry PIN. Fill in the email or PIN, press "Enter" and add a message if desired. Click "OK" to complete the process.

Respond to any contact requests that you receive. To accept or deny a request from a contact select the request. Click the trackwheel, select Open and click either "Accept" or "Decline."

Start sending instant messages! Now that you have contacts, start using the features. Click a contact on the contact list screen. Choose Start Conversation and type your message, then send it. Take note of the small delivery status icon: "D" stands for delivered and "R" means read.

Invite others to join in on a conversation by clicking "Invite" while you are already in a conversation. This creates a group so instant messages from the conversation are seen by everyone.
