How to Decrease Bloating

Bloating can occur various times in the month for people, women especially. Many will experience it right before their menstrual cycle begins, however it can happen any time. Bloating can make a person feel very uncomfortable and unattractive. There are ways to decrease bloating, however.

Instructions

    • 1

Drink lots of water. Double or even triple your water intake during the time of bloating. Bloating happens because of gained water weight, and while drinking water seems to be the opposite of what you want to do, it will help reduce the bloating the most.

    • 2

Use natural diuretics such as carrots, green tea, and lemon. Lemon will especially go good with water if you dislike the taste of plain water.

    • 3

Caffeine is known to help, but it's not for everybody.

    • 4

Avoid anything with salt. Salt will make you retain water and cause you to bloat even more.

    • 5

Consume your food in a slower manner and try to eat smaller, more frequent meals. This will help reduce any gas that may lead to bloating.

    • 6

Question whether or not you are dehydrated. Dehydration actually causes you to bloat so it is a good idea to keep hydrated at all times!

    • 7

      Avoid sugar and alcohol.

    • 8

Know that hormones sometimes are a big reason why bloating occurs. You cannot always control these so it is best to keep a monthly schedule and know your body. When you notice that time of the month approaching then it is best to avoid all of the things that can cause you to bloat. It will at least decrease the effects of the bloating.
