1. The first step in learning how to replace a Palm Pre battery is to completely shut off the phone. This is necessary to avoid corrupting any data as well as your own personal protection. Make sure that the Pre is completely turned off and not just "asleep".

2. Next, remove the back panel of the Palm Pre by unsnapping it from the phone. This should be relatively easy, if you feel as though it is difficult stop as you are probably doing something wrong.

3. After the cover is removed, pull on the dark colored tab above the battery to remove the Palm Pre battery. At this point, you are able to replace the Palm Pre battery.
