How to Open Rar File

To open rar files you will need software that can read and unzip the .rar file type in the correct format. Some operating systems come with their own application to open rar files but if not you can download software for free.

• rar file
• winzip

1. To download and unzip or extract the files in a .rar extension rar file you will need a software program equivalent to WinZip. The zip file tool allows you download almost any file type and extract the files into a folder on your computer.

2. To open rar files you simply install the WinZip free software on to your computer and then download the rar file or go to the already downloaded rar file and right click to chose open with. Then you will chose the WinZip.

3. To properly open rar files you must first extract the files from their zipped folders. These file types can hold very large files in a zipped format and when unzipped you will be able to see the actual size of the entire file. If the rar file doesn't seem to be working its probably because you didn't actually unzip or extract the files. You can't just download it and open it. The rar file must be opened using a file extracting software.
