- Fabric for back
- Thread
- Fabric Tape Measure
- Sewing Machine
- Blanket Trim
- Optional: Yarn or Ribbon
-
Step 1
Select your fabric panel and trim.
If your panel is NOT pre-quilted, select backing fabric and batting.
If you choose a pre-quilted panel skip to step 6. -
Step 2
Trim backing fabric and batting to size.
-
Step 3
Baste batting between panel and back panel with right sides of fabric facing out.
-
Step 4
Machine quilt.
As an alternative to quilting, using a fabric tape measure, create a grid on the quilt marking intersections safety pins. Using the coordinating yarn or ribbon, loop a 2" piece of yarn or ribbon through the blanket, knotting securely on the front. If tying bows with the ribbon, use a longer piece and knot the ribbon well before tying the bow. -
Step 5
Trim edges of batting, panel and backing so they are even.
-
Step 6
Pin trim in place, mitering the corners. Machine stitch near the edge, being careful to sew through both sides of the trim.
