This article will show you how to clear up your acne, without the use of expensive prescriptions or face creams. What's more, this works for acne on both the face and on the back (which can sometimes be very difficult to get rid of.)

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Antibacterial Hand Soap
  • Fels-Naptha Laundry Soap
  • Scrub Brush
  1. Step 1

During your normal bathing ritual (either shower or bath,) use a damp wash cloth to apply Fels-Naptha soap to your face, scrubbing vigorously. Once applid, be sure to rinse off completely. As primarily a laundry soap, Fels-Naptha accomplishes the task of removing excess oil from your skin.

  2. Step 2

Once you are finished with your bathing ritual, apply the anti-bacterial saop (I personally use Bath and Body Works, with the cleansing beads) to your loofa and scrub brush. Using the loofa, vigorously scrub your skin again. When finished, do the same to your back. Make sure that when you are finished you completely rinse the soap off of your skin, as leaving any on can lead to overly dry skin.

  3. Step 3

Wait a few hours and, preferably before bed, apply rubbing alcohol to both your face and back. Acne is mostly caused by both bacteria and oily skin, so applying rubbing alcohol accomplishes the dual task of killing bacteria and drying the skin.

Tips & Warnings
  • These tips are primarily aimed toward those with very oily, non-sensitive skin. If your skin is not very oily, or if you have sensitive skin, I recommend taking out one or more steps. After all, drying the skin too much can be just as bad as leaving it oily.
  • When purchasing anti-bacterial soap, be sure that it does not include moisturizers. Moisturizers tend to worsen acne, as they contribute to the overall oiliness of the skin.
  • When applying the alcohol, be sure to aviod getting it in your eyes, as it can be very painful. If you do, be sure to rinse them out with cold water.
