How to use KINDLE to download LARGE PRINT BOOKS
Your Kindle is full of surprises!

- Amazon Kindle 2 ("latest generation" Kindle) has a 6" diagonal screen - price has just been reduced to $299
- used Kindle 1 - available on sites such as eBay
- ebooks. price varies. classics are free, bestsellers $9.99 or less

The Amazon Kindle is an ereader - an electronic book. You transfer books from the computer to your ereader through a free wireless service. The cost of ebooks varies. Books in the public domain - classics like Shakespeare - are free. There are several sites from which you can download free books. Bestsellers are usually cost $9.99 or less.
There are three Amazon Kindle models available now.
* The original Kindle is not currently being manufactured by Amazon - you can pick up a used original Kindle on sites like eBay. (Link in Resources)* the Kindle 2 (also called the "latest generation" Kindle) has a 6" diagonal screen and is available at Amazon.com (Link in Resources)
* the Kindle DX has a 9.7" diagonal screen and is available at Amazon.com (Link in Resources)

Here are the steps to follow to change the font size on your Kindle.
Kindle 1
* the font button is located on the bottom right corner. It is printed with the symbol "Aa". PRESS this button.
* roll the cursor wheel up or down to choose your font size
* after choosing your font size. Press down (click) the cursor wheel.
* DONE!Kindle 2
* the font button is the first button to the right of the spacebar. It is printed with the symbol "Aa". PRESS this button
* choose your font size by moving the square button (on the right side of the machine) to the right for a larger font, or the left for smaller.
* after choosing your font size. Press down (click) the square button.
* DONE!Kindle DX
* follow the same directions as the Kindle 2 -

I highly recommend the Kindle. A family member is legally blind and the Kindle is a small miracle for us.
