Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup yellow corn meal
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 can cream corn
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Step 1
In a large bowl you will combine the corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Then you will need a small bowl where you will add the eggs, buttermilk, corn, oil, onion, and green pepper. You will need to whisk these ingredients together.

Then you will need to stir in the dry ingredients and mix together well. Then you will need to fold in the cheese. If you want to spice things up you can stir in a few jalapeno. This will give the corn bread a little more kick.

You will need to grease a 9 inch square baking pan and pour in the batter. Then you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees and the bake the corn bread for 30 to 35 minutes or until the tooth pick comes out clean. This is great with some chili.
