Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Create A Pre-Shot Ritual.

This ritual consists of everything from getting up to shoot to contacting the cue ball. A common pre-shot ritual goes as follows.

  2. Step 2

    *Examine The Table...*

and choose the best shot that will leave you with the best position to shoot the remaining balls.

  3. Step 3

*Decide Exactly How You Want To Play It...*

and where you want the cue ball to land after you shoot.

  4. Step 4

    *Chalk Up The Stick*

  5. Step 5

    *Line Up The Shot...*

and get into position with your head low and directly over the cue stick.

  6. Step 6

    *Practice Stroke A Few Times...*

or more or less if comfortable

  7. Step 7

    *Execute Shot...*

    making sure to follow through.

  8. Step 8

    *Rinse & Repeat...*

steps 2-7 before each shot to create the right conditions for you to make shots successfully and repeatedly.

  9. Step 9

Examine How Your Opponent is Playing

You can sometimes get a morale boost if you notice they are having troubles and are frustrated.

  10. Step 10

    Stay Relaxed

Find a way to stay relaxed while playing so nerves play little to no part in your game.
