Instructions

    • 1

Start clipping your dog on his belly, armpits, near the groin and the behind. Clip with the grain of your dog's hair. Move to his legs and paws.

    • 2

Clip your dog's back from neck to tail. Clip the back of his head. If your dog has loose skin, hold it taut while running the clippers over it.

Comb the hair on your dog's face up and use scissors to trim it. Trim the hair between his paws with scissors as well.

    • 4

Brush your dog to get rid of the the hair clippings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to bathe your dog and comb out mats and tangles before you start clipping. Secure your dog while clipping, enlisting the help of a family member or friend, if necessary.

  • Clip or cut well away from the dog's skin. It is better to simply give your pet a light trim than cut into his skin and cause bleeding or possibly an infection.
