How to Make Guacamole at Home

Serve your fresh guacamole with tortilla chips.

Guacamole is a great complement to many dishes. Mix up a batch next time you plan to make Mexican food, or serve it as a dip with tortilla chips when you are expecting guests. Fresh guacamole only takes a few minutes to make.

Things You'll Need

• 1 medium avocado
• 4 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 small tomato
• 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
• 1 tablespoon green chilies chopped
• 1 clove garlic
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Cut the avocado in half and remove the seed. Remove the avocado flesh from the skin. Place the avocado to the side.

2. Squeeze the juice from the lemons into a mixing bowl.

3. Remove the seeds from the small tomato and chop into fine pieces. Peel and finely chop the onion and set it aside. Finely chop the green chili and place it aside as well. Peel and mince the garlic.

4. Add the avocado to lemon juice in the mixing bowl. Mash them together.

5. Add the tomatoes, onion, chilies, garlic and salt and stir in until distributed throughout the mixture. Cover and place the guacamole in the refrigerator to get cold.
