Instructions

Start by stretching a string from the front to the back of the propose greenhouse frame. Hammer a nail at the end point of the string forming the frame longest side walls. Tie an additional string to the left corner and measure off the two door panels, leaving an opening for the door way. The greenhouse should have a front and a back door that will allow air flow to move evenly throughout the greenhouse. Repeat the procedure for the back door. Once this is done take a measuring tape and measure the string for the correct measure before purchasing any materials.

Lay out the 2x4 treated wood on the string line remove the string nail a wood block on each inside corner of the frame to attach the treated wood together. Drill holes along the long walls of the frame form the base of the greenhouse skeleton their should be four to six ribs on each side of the greenhouse. Drill one hole and measure the opposite side to make sure the poles are even. Use a piece of paper and trace the opening of the PVC pipe before you drill the permanent hole into the treated wood. Trace the pattern on to the treated wood. Drill inside of the pattern ensuring a tight fit. Insert the re bar a least a foot into the ground. Place the 20 foot PVC pipe over the re bar and twist into the treated wood. Repeat to complete the framing one row at a time. There are two procedure to attach the roof parts of the greenhouse, continue to bend the re bar and attach cover with PVC piping or attach PVC L joints to attach a flat roof. Use copper or bailing wire to attach cross bar PVC pipe to secure the greenhouse skeleton running front to back and balance out the roof, thread the wire through the PVC and attach to the next frame roof rod.

Reinforce the base with bailing wire. Drill a hole seven inches through the base of the PVC pipe creating an eye hole form both sides, thread the wire thought the other side. The drill hole should be wide enough to thread around the re bar and back to the same side and anchor with a nail to the wood. Repeat at the other anchor points on both sides of the PVC rod.

Tips & Warnings

  • The door has to be the strongest part of the greenhouse. Use ten foot vertical post 4x4 buried 3-4 foot for the doorway frame. Drape and attach polythene.
