Boob Gap
Boob Gap

If you are a female, short-waisted, well-endowed, the shoulders and waist of your blouse fit, but the breast area of your blouse gaps open. Here’s how to fix that easily.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Matching thread
  • Sewing machine, or sew by hand.
  1. Step 1

    1. Okay, the breast area of your blouses pucker open.

  2. Step 2

    2. Sew on machine, or by hand, with matching thread along outside of buttonhole side of blouse with blouse buttoned up through both front panels of blouse. Be careful to keep the interfacing behind buttons flat as you sew. I used black thread in this case. You could use transparent "invisible" thread available at Jo-Ann Fabrics and elsewhere. It is like thin clear fishing line and just as difficult to work with. You might want to use a zipper foot to get real close to edge. I did not find it necessary. Some blouses even already have a seam down outside of buttonhole side of garment; just sew over it with buttons buttoned.
Don’t worry your head will still fit easily through the opening!

  3. Step 3

    3. Now you can look dapper without buying a new wardrobe, using 3 pins, or loosing weight. This is a much more together, thinning look. Better than constantly yanking your blouse.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to put your blouse on before makeup, or be sure to tuck your head way down when putting on blouse; so you don't get any makeup on blouse.

on 7/21/2009 I get it! You're sewing the overlapping side of the blouse (without the buttons) to the underlapping side (with the buttons). Then you use it just like a pullover though it looks like a button front shirt.
