Do you or your kids have greenish colored hair from swimming in a chlorinated pool? Does your hair feel dry or damaged from the chlorine?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Tomato Paste
  • Leave in Conditioner
  1. Step 1

The first step is determining which of the "products" you want to use on your hair, the mayonnaise or the tomato paste. The mayonnaise acts as a conditioner and will help get the green out, but I have found that the tomato paste works better at getting rid of the green. You can always use both of the products, or use one of them multiple times until you reach the results you want.

  2. Step 2

Once you know whether you are going to use the mayo or the paste, get together an old towel, and a hair clip. Next you will want to apply the tomato paste or the mayonnaise to your hair, it is usually best to do this over a sink or in the shower cause it can get pretty messy. Now that your hair is completely coated with the product, clip your hair up, and wrap your hair with the towel to reduce dripping.

  3. Step 3

I would recommend leaving the tomato paste or mayonnaise on your hair for about 30 minutes. Then Wash and dry your hair like you normally would. If you still see green in your hair, repeat the process a day or two later. You don't want to repeat the process the same day because washing and drying your hair can make it dry causing more damage and makes your hair more susceptible to turning green.

  4. Step 4

To keep your hair from turning green in the first place apply a thick leave in conditioner to all of your hair before you get in the pool, while your hair is still dry, this will keep your hair conditioned and keep your hair from soaking up the chlorine.
