How to make peanut butter candies

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 2 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons shortening
  • sprinkles
  1. Step 1

This is a delicious candy recipe that the kids can help you with. In little time you will make dozens of candy. You will need a large bowl where you will add the butter, peanut butter, and vanilla. You will need to cream this mixture together.

  2. Step 2

Next you will need to add in the powdered sugar by slowly mixing it in. Then you will add in the graham cracker crumbs, walnuts, and coconut. If you do not like all of these you can omit the filling you do not like and add that amount in another filling of your choice such as crushed m& m's or reese's pieces. You will now need to shape this mixture into one inch balls.

  3. Step 3

Now that you have all of the candies shaped you will need to place on a baking sheet and cover and place in the refrigerator for one hour. Then in a microwave safe bowl you will need to add the chocolate chips and shortening. Heat in the microwave until smooth.

  4. Step 4

You will now dip each of the peanut butter balls into the chocolate mixture making sure to shake of the excess chocolate. Then you will need to roll in the candy sprinkles or crushed nuts. Then place on wax paper until the chocolate hardens. Then place in an airtight container in the refrigerator until time of serving. They look adorable in you place then in mini cupcake papers.
