You have just enjoyed a luxurious herbal bath. Carry that feeling with you by using an herbal after-bath oil. This after-bath oil can be used daily to soften and soothe your skin. It is also extremely easy to make from items that you may already have in your kitchen cabinet or which can be easily found at any grocery or organic food store. In addition, this herbal oil can be adjusted for individual preferences. (See the "Steps" below for some recommendations.)

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 tablespoons almond oil
  • 2 tablespoons wheat germ oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apricot or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon essential herbal oil (your choice)
  1. Step 1

Choose an essential oil of basil for an aromatic after-bath oil. You also might consider the essential oil of various mints, such as peppermint or pineapple mint.

  2. Step 2

For sore muscles, choose essential oil of pine, lavender, or eucalyptus.

  3. Step 3

For a relaxing after-bath oil, choose essential oil of rose or lavender.

  4. Step 4

For an energizing after-bath oil, choose essential oil of thyme or sandalwood.

  5. Step 5

Combine all of the ingredients in a bottle. Shake well. Use as desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can choose essential oils for their fragrance, as well as for their healing properties.
  • Most of the oils listed can be found at your local grocery or organic food store. Essential oils can be found at health food stores or your local herbal shop.
  • Essential oils of herbs are more potent than the fresh herbs themselves; therefore, test a small patch of skin before using.
