Step 1
Since stretch marks are the result of stretched skin (and often times you can’t stop your skin from stretching) the best thing you can do is to apply lotions and creams. This will increase the elasticity of your skin and dramatically reduce the number of stretch marks.
-
Step 2
Apply lotions several times a day. This will hydrate your skin making it more flexible and able to withstand more of the stretching (that means fewer stretch marks).
-
Step 3
You can also prevent stretch marks by taking vitamins that help your skin. Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C are all great for the health of your skin. Eat diets high in these vitamins or take a multi vitamin pill.
-
Step 4
It’s best to get stretch marks early on before they become any larger. Find skin products that will remove small stretch marks in case the prevention method lets a few slip by. Tanning lotion can help hide stretch marks effectively.
-
Step 5
Educate yourself on the different products used to treat stretch marks. Most of these products are not proven, and can be very expensive.
-
Step 6
Last, give it time. Stretch marks may look awful now, but like any skin wound they will heal with time. Generally speaking the skin heals quickly and stretch marks should never be construed as permanently damaging.
